Despite the loss of Mullin, Wrexham still claimed a fine victory over their opponents. United's team mostly comprised academy stars, with Jonny Evans adding experience after his arrival on a short-term deal, but it was still a notable result for the newly promoted League Two outfit.
"I think the momentum in his follow through is what brings the player down. I don't think it's a red card and you can see how disappointed he was when he was sent off. It for sure change the dynamic of the game.''
Erik ten Hag wasn't in charge for the game, but he had a chance to see the best of United's academy in action before linking up with the senior squad in Houston. Hannibal and Alvaro Fernandez were among the starters, with the pair returning to their parent club after Championship loans last summer.
Next up for the senior stars, meanwhile, is a clash with Real Madrid. United will be keen to keep up their impressive pre-season record, which has seen them beat Leeds, Lyon and Arsenal without conceding a goal.
